Information we collect
We collect information needed to provide the service, including account details, billing status, uploaded resume files, optional cover letter sources, job posting text or URLs, generated outputs, usage records, and support messages.
How we use information
We use information to provide the service, process uploads, generate role-specific outputs, maintain account access, enforce plan limits, improve reliability, prevent abuse, provide support, and manage billing records.
Optional product analytics
If you opt in, we collect limited usage data to understand how MatchlyResume is used and improve the sign-up and product experience. We do not record sessions or automatically track form content or clicks. Resumes, cover letters, job postings, filenames, and free-text entries are never included in analytics. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy preferences in the footer.
Resume and job materials
Resume, CV, cover letter, and job posting materials are used to create user-requested outputs. MatchlyResume is designed to keep generated content grounded in the materials users provide.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers for hosting, account access, file storage, billing, support, and product processing. These providers may process information only as needed to help us operate MatchlyResume.
Product processing
When a user requests resume analysis or generation, relevant resume, cover letter, and job posting content is processed to produce the requested output.
Browser extension
The MatchlyResume extension for Chrome and Edge runs only when you click its icon, and only on the page open in that tab. It reads the page to find a job posting or an application form, and that reading stays in your browser. Page content reaches MatchlyResume only when you save a job, which sends the posting's text and address to your account. The extension uses your existing MatchlyResume session to sign you in and our site's language cookie to show the right language. It contains no trackers and keeps no browsing history. Your progress on a form stays on that page until it reloads and never includes your resume details.
Filling application forms
When you choose to fill a form, the extension takes details from the resume you pick: your name, email, phone, location, profile links, most recent employer and title, and education. It writes them into the empty fields it recognizes on that page. When you choose to add a CV, it puts the file you pick into the form's upload field. It does this only when you click, and it never submits a form for you. It leaves sensitive questions, such as salary, visa status, gender, ethnicity, disability and date of birth, for you to answer.
Employer forms
An application form belongs to the company or hiring platform that runs it, and its own privacy policy covers what you enter there. Some forms save typed details or upload a CV as soon as it's added, even if you never submit the application. MatchlyResume can't change or delete that information, so please contact the company directly. Check a form before adding anything you don't want to share.
Chrome Web Store policy
We use information from the extension only to provide its features. We don't sell it, use it for advertising or to assess creditworthiness, or share it beyond the service providers described above. MatchlyResume staff read it only when you ask for support or when security or the law requires it. Our use of this information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Payments
Payment information is handled by the payment processor. MatchlyResume does not store full payment card numbers.
Data retention
We keep account and product data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
User requests
Users may request access, correction, export, or deletion of account-related information by contacting support. Some billing, fraud-prevention, and legal records may need to be retained where required.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect user materials and limit access to account-related information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
